It is optically compatible with other OptelecomNKF fiber data modems, including a number of the 41XX series, the 9522A, and 9526A drop/insert modems. It is user-programmable for Master or Slave operation via dipswitch or by external contact closures and has automatic ring break detection and a selectable echo cancel feature that prevents a master unit from receiving its own transmissions. Dual function LED indicators for I/O signals and a built-in BERT tester simplify system troubleshooting.
